After the initial in-person face-to-face session, treatment is available in-person or virtually based on the patient's needs.
ISTDP is not a typical treatment in which the therapist goes through the sessions slowly. Work is done with an active participation of the therapist through the challenge and rapid identification of self-sabotaging behaviors of the patient.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY
CBT is a problem-oriented approach that aims to change unhelpful patterns of thoughts and beliefs and replace them with more accurate and healthier ones.
Always remember that for each patient you see, you may be the only person in their life capable of both hearing and holding their pain. If that’s not sacred, I don’t know what is.
